Biography
Although the beginning of his training was in an area that led him to study at Monfort University (United Kingdom) and IE Business School (Spain), he turned to artistic practice in 2011 after attending Sotheby's Institute of Art (United Kingdom), and later in 2017 at the Royal College of Art (United Kingdom).
Martim Brion's work investigates the continuous aesthetic potential of a simplified language of color and form.
His work is a combination of various coalescing interests, from the use of literary references, to the search for a polished, balanced form in his sculptural work, passing by his visual diary exposed in his photography or the focus on digitally created work. It is a diverse and evolving practice, which has come to englobe more fields and interests as it has matured, without ever losing its consistency and focus.
Recently the focus has expanded into the various intersections between the various art medium and also art and politics and art and literature, how all these points can be meshed and integrated and turn into an object, and how this might further one’s perception of art.
Martim, lives in Munich and works between Portugal and Germany.
