"WHAT YOU SEE IS NOT WHAT YOU GET" is a Susana Rocha’s project that freely explores the notion that vision is a construction subject to distortions and contaminations that underline the vast and idiosyncratic universe of human experiences.

Making use of visual stimuli and seductions, Susana Rocha presents a set of works that sustain a strong idea of tension, both conceptual and retinal, making use of concepts such as distortion, interval or pause, emptiness, furtiveness, conditioning... remaining faithful to a formal aesthetic that does not dispense with the subtle poetics inherent in the activation of these concepts and throughout her work.

 

Form, the rational stronghold of artistic practice, asserts itself as a challenge, allying itself with color as the maximum provocation of the senses. Even so, the works displayed denote minimal gestures, in the search for a maximum and seductive resonance within the viewer's gaze and experiences.
