SINOPSE
Stone Memory: Castles of Sand brings together a series of sculptures by the Spanish artist Quiñones that investigate the relationship between material, memory and temporality. Drawing upon an imaginary shaped by the proximity of the sea, the works question sculpture's capacity to transform lived experience into material permanence, allowing the mineral density of stone to coexist with the unstable nature of memory.
Without resorting to representation or nostalgia, the exhibition constructs a space in which matter and memory become mutually intertwined. A subtle exhibition design extends this sensory universe, evoking the coastal landscape not as a place, but as a condition of experience. Between sedimentation and erosion, permanence and transience, Stone Memory: Castles of Sand proposes a reflection on sculpture as a site where time and memory are inscribed.
