Biography

Tomaz Hipólito (b. 1969, Lisbon, Portugal) lives in Lisbon.

Studied architecture.

The work addresses issues of identity, body and space, their occupation and transformation.

Mapping the gesture in order to create a new temporary territory, interval, placed in-between subjectivity and the experience occurring from that.

Multiple media are used, such as photography, video, performance, painting or drawing to better reveal the concept of each work.

The entire process becomes part of the work.

Like gestures, all works are unique.
